Industry: Military, Health Care, Dentistry, Dental, R&D Type ! of Service: Part-time (Reserve Duty) Type of Position: Officer in the Navy Dental Corps (graduate degree required) About this Job: Navy Dentists are responsible for meeting the full spectrum of dental needs for military servicemembers focusing on patient care without the complications of running a business. In this role: Provide for Sailors and Marines as well as their eligible family members Specialize in General Dentistry or any of more than a dozen advanced specialty areas from Endodontics to Prosthodontics to Oral Surgery Work anywhere from Naval Bases to National Naval Medical Centers, hospital ships to mobile clinics Earn competitive pay and benefits (this includes tax-free allowances for housing and meals, low-cost life insurance options, retirement benefits, low-cost travel opportunities and potential VA home loans) Key Opportunities: Its possible to maintain an existing civilian career while also enjoying the challenges and rewards of Navy Dentistry. A Dentist in t! he Navy Reserve serves as few as two days each month and two w! eeks each year.

There are opportunities for additional service and pay and flexible scheduling opportunities to balance work commitments and meet service requirements. There are also distinct professional advantages: Take part in disaster relief and humanitarian outreach efforts Advance and share expertise through collaboration opportunities with fellow dental leaders Pursue opportunities not readily available in civilian practice (i.e., work on an aircraft carrier, in the field or in locations around the world) Acquire invaluable management experience as a dental leader (Dental Officer) Receive potential financial incentives (availability of offer depends on specialty) Receive paid training and access to Navy-funded continuing education Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration. U.S. citizenship: Required Education: Graduate of an eligible dental school accredited by the American Dental A! ssociation Licensing: License to practice in a U.S.
