Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/! Day
Board Eligible / Board Certified - Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed in a Vermont Correctional Facility for a full time opportunity from February through March (May extend). This opportunity offers a Mon-Fri schedule, 40 hour work week. The provider must be well-versed in a Primary Care Outpatient Setting. Correctional experience preferred, but not required.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualific! ations
Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician need! ed - 02/04 - 03/29 (May Extend) - Mon-Fri: 8a-5p, no call. The provider will be working with Male and on occasion Female patients. Prefers candidates with correctional exp, but not required. BE/BC, BLS, DEA. 100% Scheduled, 100% Adult patients. Typical Cases: Sick visits, chronic care, diabetes, hypertension, and HIV. Support Staff: RN's, NP's, and Administrator.
