Provides and manages psychiatric care to the persons served by the Ag! ency. Acts as a medical consultant and advises one or more Programs of the Agency on medical matters such as medical policies and protocol.

  • B. Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Services
  • 1. Supervises Nurse Practitioners of clinical mental health center (CMHC) who perform services for CMHC.
  • 2. Participates in risk management, utilization, peer review, and quality assurance programs.
  • 3. Acts independently; consistently exercises discretion and judgment in performing work, which is predominantly intellectual and varied in nature.
  • 4. Maintains the appropriate training and/or experience to address the needs of the persons served.
  • 5. Develops medical policy, protocol and clinical program development for one or more CMHC programs.
  • 6. Participates in and/or chairs various CMHC committees.
  • 7. Provides client evaluation and consultation! services, as required.
  • 8. Clinical Psychiatric Services:
a) Routine and Emergency Diagnosis and Treatment of patients who are active patients and who are assigned to the caseload of a clinician or nurse practitioner under Doctor’s direct clinical supervision.

b) Doctor will also:
1) Provide consultative clinical supervision for CMHC clinicians;

2) Facilitate interdisciplinary treatment plan/medication review sessions on patients under Doctor’s care;

3) Act as Collaborating and Supervising Physician for Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Practitioners under the employment of CMHC;

4) Review and sign treatment plans for patients under doctor’s direct clinical care or for patients under the direct clinical care of clinicians employed by CMHC and under Doctor’s direct clinical supervision.

  • 10. Develops collaborative working relationships with contracted agencies, physicians, nursing homes and ! other key stakeholders.
  • 11. Performs outreach and associated m! arketing functions for CMHC.
  • 12. Assists in the development and facilitation of continuing education programs for Agency staff.
  • 13. Provides professional clinical services to Community Mental Health Board referred clients and hospital patients accepted for inpatient treatment on a regular basis and as dictated by the needs of the persons served.
  • 14. Facilitates interdisciplinary treatment plan/medication review sessions, as required.
  • 15. Maintains and submits ongoing written records delineating clinical services performed.
  • 16. Provides clinical record documentation consistent with medical staff rules and bylaws, third party payer requirements, accreditation standards, and all state and federal licensing rules.
