The Department of Surgery at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, and The University of Vermont Medical Center are seeking to fill one sur geon position for the Acute Care Surgery Division. Successful applicants should be in mid-career with academic rank of Associate Professor or higher with an expertise in computational biology, modeling and simulation.
Applicants should be Board Certified in General Surgery with Additional Certification in Surgical Critical Care. The position will be 50% clinical with the remainder of the position to be dedicated to research. The computational expertise/experience requested involves developing and analyzing dynamic computational models. The candidate should have a strong history of multi-disciplinary collaborations spanning basic science, clinical and computational researchers, and have demonstrated success at obtaining extra-mural funding as a Principal Investigator. We are seeking this individual to aid in the Department of Surgery’s programmatic development in computational research. His or her role will be to continue to develop their own research program as we ll as serving to strengthen ties and foster collaborations with other Departments, Colleges and Centers across the University of Vermont system. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Located in Burlington, the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center serve as Vermont’s only tertiary care academic medical center.
