JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Cardiovascular Physician Assistant is academically and clinically prepared to provide Thoracic and Cardiac care in operating room, the progressive cardiac care postoperative area and the clinic. This includes, taking histories and performing physicals, first and second assistance at surgery, regular postoperative rounds and attendance at case management conferences as well as chest tubes, pacemaker wires, wound care and discharge planning. The goal being to facilitate an effective and focused application of the physicians knowledge and skills.
EDUCATION:
Must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program and be eligible for licensure as a Physicians Assistant in the state of Vermont.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 4 years of Physician Assistant experience including 2 in the Cardiac/Thoracic area. Must be CPR certified. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired will be considered.
